FilmLink® For enhanced breathability in hygiene and roofing films
- Uniform pore creation
- High MVTR
- Good dispersion
- Fewer defects
- High opacity and good color
- Downgauging
FilmLink® is an engineered treated ground calcium carbonate (GCC) which has been specifically designed to promote breathability in breathable film membranes used for hygiene products and roofing films.
Used as a functional additive, FilmLink’s defined particle size distribution contributes to uniform pore creation leading to a high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR).
The controlled surface treatment of FilmLink® reduces volatile effect and minimizes surface tension between the polymer and the additive.
FilmLink® also acts as a dispersing and thixotropic agent in breathable polyolefins, improving the mechanical, rheological, optical and dispersion properties of the polymer.
Improved mechanical properties enable manufacturers to downgauge films by up to 10 gsm, and promote better film behavior during diaper and hygiene product conversion as well as lower liquid break through.
FilmLink® promotes pore creation in breathable films

We offer two FilmLink® solutions to match customer requirements:
- FilmLink® 400: designed for high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) films
- FilmLink® 520: designed for excellent dispersion in the polymer
We offer a full range of bespoke formulation and technical and process support services to help you match the right mineral grade to your application requirement.
